Gold Tree Farms was established in 2016. We aim to be the earliest Southern Hemisphere supplier of high quality Golden kiwifruit to both global and domestic markets. The initial planting was a 6.5 hectare orchard which was followed shortly thereafter with 5.5 hectares in 2018. High quality fruit has been produced and exported to date and has proven to contain Dry Matters north of 18% and a Golden yellow color. The South African Kiwifruit industry currently sits in its’ infancy and with new varieties entering the market, and the advantage of being incredibly early into the global market, Gold Tree Farms is very excited about the future.
In 2017 the company took the decision to put in a nursery dedicated exclusively to Kiwi rootstock production. Enjoying the benefit of good sunlight hours we are very proud of the results we have achieved and the quality of plant that can be put into the market. We look to achieve an annual cycle of 1 year old and 2 year old plants grafted vines.
